Abuse in Later Life Webinar Series
Join us for the Abuse in Later Life Webinar Series in September 2016. The focus of the webinars are to increase awareness and knowledge of domestic violence advocates and allied partners regarding Abuse in Later Life.
3rd Webinar: Legal & Systems Advocacy with Older Survivors – Sept.30th at 10am EST.Ann Turner, began her work with the National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life (NCALL) in 2003, providing training and technical assistance throughout the United States. NCALL is a national project of the End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin and is the National Technical Assistance Provider for the Office on Violence Against Women’s Abuse in Later Life Grant Program.
Community-based domestic violence and/or sexual abuse advocates provide incredible support to survivors of abuse and can easily put those same skills to work for survivors of abuse in later life. This workshop will provide details on additional concerns advocates may need to consider when advocating for older survivors. Webinar will cover legal advocacy topics, as well as discuss other systems older survivors may utilize that may require the assistance of an advocate. We will also discuss considerations for outreach and safety planning with older survivors.
