Allstate Florida, The Allstate Foundation and FCADV are partnering on a unique collaboration that is truly Changing Lives! This exciting project is a direct result of the growing partnership between Allstate Florida, FCADV and Florida’s local domestic violence programs. Allstate Florida and the Allstate Foundation have been long time supporters of survivors of domestic violence. One way Allstate shows their continued support is by funding select local certified domestic violence centers to implement financial literacy programs with survivors. In addition, Allstate Florida representatives serve on the Statewide Advisory Team which was created to further the statewide coordination of economic empowerment programming while preparing the state for long term sustainability of financial literacy initiatives statewide. The Team consists of representatives from Allstate Florida, FCADV, local certified domestic violence centers and local Allstate agents.
One of the Statewide Advisory Team’s goals is to connect local Allstate agents with local certified domestic violence centers to implement donation drives throughout the year. Many domestic violence survivors have fled violent homes with their children; in fact, children represent 46.2% of those served in emergency shelter. These donation drives occur quarterly and are specific to the needs of survivors and their children living in emergency shelter.
