FCADV in collaboration with Florida Prosperity Partners will conduct a two day Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program Volunteer Certification Preparation Session Facilitation for the 2019-2020 tax season. This training will assist economic empowerment advocates with understanding the process for tax preparation in order to support survivors of domestic violence who are filing for taxes. Discussion will include a review of TaxSlayer as a technology platform used for assisting with tax returns and training on tax preparations. Advocates will complete the Volunteer Standards of Conduct exam, the Intake/Interview/Quality Review exam, and the Advanced Scenario exam. The Health Savings Accounts (HAS) exam will also be introduced and completed during this two-day training.
