Center supervisors will learn activities and facilitation skills to enhance domestic violence support groups conducted by advocates. Information will include effective group process, reflective statements and presenting the context and social roots of violence against women in the group environment
The presenter Melissa Scaia, is the former Executive Director of Domestic Abuse Intervention Programs (DAIP) and currently serves as the Director of International Training for Global Rights for Women (GRW). She has experience leading and organizing Coordinated Community Responses (CCR) to address domestic violence in Minnesota, as well as co-facilitating groups for men who batter and women who use violence.
This free one day event is open to certified domestic violence center program directors, managers and shelter supervisors.
Limited travel scholarships are available to training attendees who travel over 50 miles.
