Pamela Jacobs, J.D. will explore the relationship between the roots and social context of domestic violence and enhanced empowerment strategies. Participants will learn culturally relevant and inclusive counseling/advocacy strategies that acknowledge the impact of coercive control on mental health and explore vicarious trauma prevention and effective self-care through discussion and interactive activities. The speaker is an author, attorney, advocate, and speaker dedicated to empowering women and ending sexual and domestic violence. She has worked with survivors for over 18 years and currently speaks to audiences nationwide about how to respond to and prevent these epidemics.
The intended audience includes domestic violence advocates, mental health professionals and community partners.
The event is of free of charge and limited travel scholarships are available to training attendees who travel over 50 miles.
Five CEU’s are available for LCSW, LMFT and LMHC. T
