This three day training provides twenty four hours of the thirty hours of training required of certified domestic violence center advocates and volunteers in order to qualify for victim/advocate privileged communications under Florida law. Topics to be addressed include: The Herstory of the Battered Women's Movement, Domestic Violence Overview, Empowerment, The Impact of Trauma, Safety Planning and Risk Assessments, Working with Children and Youth, Answering the Hotline, Inclusive, Primary Prevention, FCADV Standards, Confidentiality, Advocacy, among others.
***This three day training is open only to active advocates and volunteers of Florida certified domestic violence centers***
The training will occur from 8:30am-5:30pm. Lunch will be on your own.
Scholarships may be provided to certified centers required to travel for this event.
