Domestic violence advocates play an important role in creating social change that alleviates barriers and enhances the community response to domestic violence.  That includes not only addressing the immediate needs of survivors but also in addressing barriers that may exist for survivors who identify within marginalized communities.   In this training participants will increase their ability to identify social barriers that may limit  their ability to provide culturally informed and responsive services to survivors of domestic violence. Attendees will also discuss the socio-historical impact on marginalized communities and how to apply an anti-oppressive philosophy to their work.
