This training provides Competency-based Core Curriculum Training for qualified domestic violence center advocates who want to become authorized trainers of the Competency-based Core Curriculum. In order to attend the training, a domestic violence center advocate must have completed 30 hours of core training for victim/advocate privilege communications under Florida Statute Section 90.5036, have two or more years of experience working in a Florida certified domestic violence center and be employed with one of Florida’s 42 certified domestic violence centers. In order to become authorized trainers of the Competency-based Core Curriculum an additional training of Core Competency Train the Trainer must be attended as well after completing this training. Topics to be addressed include: The Herstory of the Battered Women’s Movement, Domestic Violence Overview, Empowerment, The Impact of Trauma, Safety Planning and Risk Assessments, Working with Children and Youth, Answering the Hotline, Cultural Humility, Primary Prevention, FCADV Standards, Confidentiality, Advocacy, among others.

***This three day training is open only to active advocates of Florida certified domestic violence centers that are qualifed to attend***

The training will occur from 8:30am-5:30pm. Lunch will be on your own.
Travel scholarships may be provided to certified domestic violence centers required to travel 50 miles or more for this event. Must attend the entire event to qualify. A limited number of travel scholarships will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. Please request a scholarship while registering online.
