Program Manager Regional Training - Orlando February 14 2018

The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence will host a free, one-day Program Manager Regional Training in Orlando, FL. This full-day, interactive training session will focus on building advocates’ skills in the areas of screening, safety planning, and responding to survivors of trauma. Training will include discussion of the impact that trauma has on survivor’s emotional responses and memory. Participants will explore strategies for advocates to provide appropriate responses to victims who are experiencing guilt/shame, grief, anger and/or impacts on their memory. After a shared understanding is built of how survivors’ presentations are affected in the aftermath of the trauma of domestic violence, there will be skill building for effective assessment and response. There will be discussion surrounding safety planning, and screening. This event is open to Supervisors, Program Directors, Program Managers, and Shelter Managers.


The training will occur from 9:00am-5:00pm, lunch will be on your own. 
Scholarships may be provided to certified centers required to travel for this event.
