Safety Planning
Safety planning is for those:
- Living with an abuser - because the danger can occur at any time.
- Planning to leave - because few abusers allow their victim to leave peacefully.
- Living separately - because danger often increases after a survivor leaves or stops a relationship.

First Step Books
First Step is a domestic violence (DV) education and resource booklet designed to help suspected and confirmed victims of domestic violence. It includes information on domestic violence, a detailed safety plan, and a listing of the names and hotline phone numbers of 38 of Florida's 42 DV Centers. The First Step booklet was made possible through a grant received by the Florida Department of Health in partnership with The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence and from The Family Violence Prevention Fund. Three language versions are available:
You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to view these files. Information about ordering copies of the First Step booklet can be found at the Florida DOH First Steps site.
