This meeting is offered to domestic violence advocates, allies and community partners who work with survivors of domestic violence in rural communities. The mission of the FCADV Rural Caucus is to help to overcome the barriers which are unique to rural survivors of domestic violence. Through education and advocacy, these barriers, which include but are not limited to, a lack of resources, isolation, lack of transportation, lack of privacy, sexism, racism, anti-Semitism, religious biases, homophobia, victim blaming, lack of accountability, and stereotypcial "small town" attitudes will be bridged. We believe our commitment to overcoming these barriers is a crucial step in ending domestic violence for those living in rural communities and everywhere. For information on how you can attend this meeting or for more information on the Rural Caucus please contact the Rural Caucus Chair, Hannah Fossette, at (386) 325-4447.
